LETTERCULT – BEST OF 2012

Posted by Steve DeCusatis @ 8:08 pm

Brian Jaramillo runs a blog called LetterCult and they recently released their Best of 2012. It includes submissions from various artists using custom type and letters in their work.

We were lucky enough to have five of our designs from 2012 selected to be on their blog (shown below). To view the complete Best of 2012, please visit: http://www.lettercult.com/archives/3985#more-3985

MODERN DOG A SUCCESS

Posted by Steve DeCusatis @ 4:55 pm

Modern, dog stories, and tons of caffeine-fueled creativity. Definitely one of the best design talks ever to happen in Philly! Very awesome to have Robynne here  – all the way from Seattle – to share her MD story w/ the Philly scene for the first time. Below are a couple pics from last night’s Robynne Raye Modern Dog lecture.

Many, many thanks to the entire Philly design community for coming out and supporting one of the coolest studios of all time! A fun evening filled with Modern Dog history, great questions, intriguing stories, good coffee, hilarious packaging design, silk-screened prints and raffles too!

Check out the latest site by Two Paperdolls! They’ve teamed up with Neenah Papers to help fundraise for the Hamilton Wood Type Printing Museum in Wisconsin. My 1st generation and 2nd generation business cards are in the gallery. Printing was done by Mama’s Sauce in Orlando, FL. Check out the cards (and the rest of the site) here:

HONEY LOGO PUBLISHED AMBIGRAMS REVEALED

Posted by Steve DeCusatis @ 4:44 pm

Ambigrams Revealed, an international showcase of ambigrams and ambigram artists was recently released and includes the Vermont Raw Honey logo I designed a little while back for JEG Design. The logo design was for a squeeze-able honey container. The reason it works is because when the honey is half-way gone and you flip over the container, the logo still lives and reads just as it did right-side-up on shelf. Shown is the cover design by Nikita Prokhorov (Nikita is also the author, writer, and curator) and the honey logo inside the book.
