HI-RES LIVE
Posted by Steve DeCusatis @ 10:11 amLOGOLOUNGE 10
Posted by Steve DeCusatis @ 9:02 amWe are super excited to have a couple logos picked for LogoLounge’s next book, Volume 10!
Two projects were picked from among the 40,000 logos reviewed by LogoLounge’s international judging panel of design superstars, including Andreas Karl, Aaron Draplin, Von Glitschka, Alex Tass, Chad Michael, Yo Santosa, Emily Oberman, Su Mathews Hale, Felix Sockwell and Alex Trochut. Many thanks to all the judges, and to Bill Gardner, who started LogoLounge!
Below are the logos selected along with some sketches that I dug up to show some of the process. In this case, both logos were hand-drawn and custom lettered. Please take a look below:
AARON DRAPLIN
Posted by Steve DeCusatis @ 12:50 pmMany, many thanks to everyone who came out to Aaron Draplin’s events this past weekend at PhilaU! It was a blast to work with Aaron on planning the day and to meet all of you who attended. We’re putting the ticket profits to good use by donating them to ACCT Philly and Philadelphia Community Arts Network. Below are some photos (most by Sam Fritch Photography) from the workshop and lecture with Aaron at the helm.
Aaron also got on the mic with Hi-Res Podcast. LISTEN HERE!
Thanks again to all—especially to Aaron for his energy and expertise over the 12-hour day, attendees from near and far, and all who helped set up and lend a hand. Anyone leave behind a T•TRAXX pencil case or a Contigo water bottle? If so, I have ’em for you! Cheers!
TANDEM DESIGN CONFERENCE 2016
Posted by Steve DeCusatis @ 10:21 amMario Zucca (colleague, friend and illustrator) and I co-hosted a lecture and workshop at this year’s Tandem Design Conference. Tandem is an annual student-run design conference at PhilaU (https://www.tandem-conference.
Our lecture, Design + Illustration + Collaboration + Integration, covered our journeys since graduating from Tyler School of Art. We discussed being business owners and educators, integrating workflows, and collaborations on many projects. Various work and interdisciplinary collaborations with other designers, illustrators, animators, clients and more were shared with students and professionals alike.
We also led a workshop, titled Exquisite Workshop, which focused on collaborating with fellow attendees to create wildly fun exquisite corpses. We encouraged image-making, collaboration, and media experimentation in this hands-on workshop. The attendees reviewed their work, shared the creations, and then posted via social media for future connections.
We would like to thank the folks at Tandem for inviting us and also thank everyone who attended the events. It was a blast!
